With new Lara’s games, she returns to the basics - exploring temples and tombs, solving puzzles, overcoming challenges, finding hidden treasures and of course fight loads of enemies. Not only from this point of view but also story-wise we have a restart of the series here, which allows even new players that are unfamiliar with her adventures from the original century to enjoy the journey from the start.
In contrast to the original series you do not start as a seasoned raider, but rather frightened confused and vulnerable girl that is only about to discover what lies within her. She has to learn to survive, upgrade her gear, weapons and skills.
- The restart of the series went rather well, the legend lives.
At the beginning of 2018, we could watch all-new Lara Croft movie based on this game. The movie received fairly positive reviews even though someone decided to decrease the level of mysticism at the end of the movie compared to that which we can experience in the game. You can watch or get it here.
In sequel Rise of the Tomb Raider (2015) you can smoothly continue your adventure, fight mysterious organization Trinity and finally find out whether your father did not spend time with you for no good reason or he was actually on a break of great discovery.
Going through the games you cultivate your way of dealing with enemies, which will be one, or combination of these: stealthy killa, boom killa or just shoot everything killa. To explain, you either go cat-like ninja quietness so the enemies do not even know what hit them or you go and deliver explosive devastation or just “standardly” bring death upon them with firearms of your choosing. But while it is true that you are given more tools, gear, upgrades, and skills to learn, the overall experience from the sequel Rise of the Tomb Raider is for better or worse quite similar to the Tomb Raider (2013).
- Newest edition and supposingly final piece of the trilogy the Shadow of the Tomb Raider (2018) has just been released and is all yours to explore.
